Bio

Dr. Kimberly Chappell received her DVM degree at NC State University. She practiced small animal clinical medicine for a few years before joining the animal health industry, where she served 10 years in pharmaceutical product research and development with Intervet. Later, she joined the faculty at NC State, where she directed the Clinical Studies Core, a service unit to support clinical research at the College of Veterinary Medicine. After 4 years, Dr. Chappell rejoined industry with Elanco Animal Health, supporting clinical trials and effectiveness studies for new product research and development. Three years ago she transitioned to her current role, as a Regional Consulting Veterinarian in US Pet Health. In this role she provides medical and technical consultation for Elanco's companion animal veterinary customers and sales team members.

 

Dr. Chappell’s interests include supporting organizational leadership and leadership development within the veterinary profession. She’s served in several state veterinary medical association  committees and offices over the years, including Delaware VMA President. She is a longtime volunteer with the Veterinary Leadership Institute, and a trained facilitator for the Veterinary Leadership Experience. Dr. Chappell is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, and hopes to use her voice and skills to encourage wellbeing in the veterinary profession.

 

Dr. Chappell resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband (a practicing veterinarian) and two kids (Ruby, 11; Grant, 13). She’s loves cooking and running, and being a karate mom.
